Faux wood shutters are operated entirely by hand — panels fold on hinges, louvres tilt via the tilt rod. No cords or chains anywhere. Fully compliant with UK child safety regulations in their standard configuration.
The central tilt rod rotates all louvres simultaneously from fully open to fully closed. You can angle light upward into the room, close completely for privacy at night, or anything in between — all without moving the panels.

Faux wood shutters — why they work for an express service
Our Express Shutters are available in faux wood. It's a deliberate choice — faux wood is dimensionally stable, takes paint consistently, and doesn't need the additional curing time that natural hardwood requires. That's what lets us cut the lead time without cutting the quality.
The panels are robust enough for kitchens, bathrooms, and rooms that see a lot of temperature variation — and they look identical to painted hardwood shutters once fitted.

Faux wood shutters use a stable composite material that doesn't require the same curing and acclimatisation time as natural hardwood. That's what lets us compress the manufacturing and fitting timeline to two weeks without any risk to the finish or fit. Hardwood and MDF shutters are available through our standard range with a 4–6 week lead time.
Does the 2-week guarantee include the survey?
Yes — the two weeks runs from the date of your survey. We'll measure up, confirm the order, and have everything made and fitted within 14 days of that visit. We'll confirm the fitting date with you before we leave the survey appointment.
Are express shutters the same quality as standard shutters?
Yes. The same frame profiles, hinge hardware, tilt rod system, and paint finish are used on Express Shutters as on our standard range. The difference is the material — faux wood rather than hardwood or MDF — and the lead time. The installation process, fitting quality, and finish are identical.
What window types can Express Shutters be fitted to?
Express faux wood shutters can be fitted to standard rectangular windows, bay windows, and French or patio doors. They're available in full height, café style, and tier-on-tier configurations. Shaped or arched windows and tracked door applications are available through our standard range where additional templating time is required.
Is there a cost difference compared to standard shutters?
Express Shutters are priced comparably to our standard faux wood range — there's no premium charged for the faster turnaround. We'll give you a fixed price at survey with no obligation to proceed. What you're quoted is what you pay, with no fitting-day surprises.
