DUNES
A vertical blind system built around a dual-fabric vane — sheer and textured in one. Designed for large windows, bi-fold doors and sliding patio doors, where scale and light control both matter.
About DUNES
A vertical blind
that does two things at once
DUNES is a vertical blind system from Style by Global, built around a vane that combines two fabrics in a single panel. One side sheer, one side textured. Rotate the vanes and you move between views — open light, filtered privacy, or a soft in-between.
It's designed specifically for large glazed openings. Bi-fold doors, sliding patio doors, picture windows — the places where a standard blind either looks wrong at scale or can't cope with the opening mechanism. DUNES handles both.
The "S" wave profile gives the vanes a consistent drape rather than the flat, rigid look of a traditional vertical. It's a small detail that makes a real difference to how the finished blind reads in a room.
The Vane
Two fabrics.
One vane.
Most vertical blinds give you one fabric — block it or don't. DUNES works differently. Each vane carries both a sheer and a textured fabric, and rotating the headrail shifts which face is forward.
That gives you a genuine mid-position. Not just open or closed, but a soft diffused light that cuts glare without killing the view. Useful in a south-facing living room. Genuinely useful, not a gimmick.
Individual vanes are removable and washable. If one takes damage, you replace it — not the whole blind.
Filters light, softens glare, maintains an outward view. Works as the primary position for most daytime use.
Soft textured fabric for evening privacy or when you need more substantial light control. Still looks good doing it.
What You Get
Built-in features
All standard across the range, not optional extras.
Child Safety Certified
Meets current child safety standards. No exposed cords or loops. Safe for family homes without needing additional accessories.
Flame Retardant Option
Available in flame retardant fabric for commercial environments, rental properties, or wherever building regulations require it.
Walk Through
Vanes part to let you walk through without having to retract the full blind. Practical for patio doors that get daily use.
Minimal Stack
When retracted, the vanes stack tightly. Less blind taking up window space when you don't want it there.
Silent in the Breeze
The "S" wave profile and fabric construction mean the vanes don't clatter in a draught. Quieter than most vertical systems when a door or window is open.
Washable Vanes
Individual vanes are removable and washable. Practical for kitchen or dining areas where fabric picks up grease and cooking residue over time.
Bi-Fold Doors
Standard blinds either sit in front of bi-folds and block them, or don't cover the full span. DUNES is designed to work with the full width of the opening, with a minimal stack that clears the door panels when open.
Primary Use CaseSliding Patio Doors
Works well on sliding door openings — the walk-through feature means the blind doesn't need to be fully retracted every time someone uses the door. The vanes part and close behind you.
High Traffic DoorsLarge Windows
Floor-to-ceiling or wide picture windows where a roller blind wouldn't cover the span, or where a heavy curtain would block too much light. DUNES covers the width and gives you control over how much light gets through.
Large GlazingThe S-wave profile and dual-fabric vane make it one of the better-looking vertical systems on the market. It actually suits a room rather than just covering a window.Homefair Blinds & Shutters — Product Notes
Shading Flexibility
Three positions.
One blind.
Rotate the headrail to shift between modes. No separate mechanisms, no extra components — just the vane angle and which fabric face is forward.
Open View
Vanes rotated to let light through. Sheer fabric faces forward — you can see out, light comes in, the blind is practically invisible.
Soft Filter
The in-between position. Diffuses glare without closing the room off. Good for a south-facing room in the afternoon.
Privacy
Textured fabric forward, vanes fully closed. Blocks the view in from outside. Lets some diffused light through, but not much.
